The resources and summaries that follow are designed for students who have already studied abroad and are unsure about what action(s) to take and how coursework is applied to their UCLA academic record. There are variances between program types, hence we have outlined them below as such. For more information, please refer to the individual study abroad program page.
UCEAP
All courses, units, and grades from UCEAP are guaranteed to transfer to UCLA, which is different from satisfying degree requirements. If you plan to satisfy UCLA degree requirements with UCEAP courses abroad, please refer to our UCEAP Academics page for more information on the petition process.
Please note, grades can take up 90 days after your program end date to be received by the UCLA Registrar Office.
UCLA Travel Study
UCLA students enrolled in Travel Study will have their courses and grades automatically added to their transcript as if taking courses on campus.
If you are a UC student, courses are UC-transferable and will automatically transfer to your UC transcript in the Fall.
Non-UC students should consult with an academic advisor at the Registrar’s Office at their home institution.
Should you need a transcript, you can view and request a transcript on MyUCLA.
UCLA Global Internships
All courses will automatically transfer to your UCLA transcript. Should you need a transcript, you can view and request a transcript on MyUCLA.
Non-UC programs
An official transcript from the study abroad program must be sent to the UCLA Admissions Office. The UCLA Admissions Office will then evaluate the institution and courses to determine transfer credit.
For more information, please refer to the Non-UC Academics page.
