The UCLA International Education Office (IEO) believes that study abroad and student exchange enhance the educational mission of the University and support the University’s status as an internationally recognized institution of higher education and research. As part of the division of Summer Sessions and International Education, IEO works with students, faculty, and departments to create, manage, and promote study abroad programming that adheres to the field’s and the University’s best practices.

The IEO offers a complete range of services for students who wish to study abroad and counsels them on academic, cultural, and financial issues. In a similar way, the IEO advisers welcome visiting international students and give them guidance about campus life. IEO also serves faculty by facilitating international agreements and programs. IEO serves departments and administrative units by interpreting campus policies in relation to international programming. In that capacity, IEO seeks to integrate its work into the University’s long-term strategic initiatives.
