The UCLA International Education Office is pleased to announce a scholarship opportunity made possible by support from UCEAP. The UCEAP Global Blogger Scholarship is designed for students who want to engage deeply with and reflect creatively on their study abroad experience through a blog. Scholarship winners will commit to publish at least 10 blog posts while abroad about their study abroad program and have their content will be featured on the IEO blog, our website, and other promotional materials.
 Awards
- Three $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to UCLA students.
Criteria
- Applicants must submit a link to a sample blog post published on a free blogging platform (e.g. WordPress, Blogger, Wix, Weebly, Medium, etc.). The entry should be about any recent event or experience you can write an 800 to 1,000-word blog post about. This could be on a camping trip, a bus ride to the Getty, eating out in Little Tokyo, a day in the life of a UCLA student, or documenting a volunteer experience in LA – be creative and make us wish we were there! The post must include at least 5 original photos. Applicants will be evaluated on creativity, story-telling, and media. If you have never blogged before, simply create an account at one of the sample platforms listed above and publish an entry.
- Must be a currently enrolled UCLA undergraduate or graduate student participating on a UCEAP study abroad program in Winter or Spring 2019. UCLA Travel Study programs are not eligible for this scholarship.
- Maintain a minimum 2.50 UC GPA and be in good academic standing.
Deadlines
- The application deadline for students studying abroad Winter or Spring 2019 is October 11th, 2018 by 11:59 pm.
