The First Generation Scholarship will offer three $3,000 awards for a first-generation college student participating on a Summer/Fall 2021 UCEAP program! This scholarship can be applied to UCEAP virtual programs, but the award amount may be reduced.

For Summer/Fall cycle, applicants are also considered for the UCLA Kimura Airfare Grant which covers $900 of student’s airfare.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be a first-generation college student identified as a student whose parent(s) or guardian(s) did not attend a four-year college or receive a college degree.
  • Current UCLA undergraduate student who will attend a UCEAP program for at least one academic term (e.g. summer, quarter, semester, or year abroad).
  • Financial-aid recipient at UCLA.
  • No previous study abroad participation.
  • Good academic standing at UCLA.

These scholarships will be awarded through a competitive application process.

Application Period

Scholarship applications will open January 4th for students studying abroad during Summer/Fall 2021. Applicants will be notified of awards by mid-March, 2021.
