The UCLA Global Internship Program Scholarship will offer multiple scholarship awards of up to $3,000 each for UCLA students participating on in-person programs and up to $1,000 for UCLA students participating on virtual programs.

This scholarship is designed for students who want to engage with their program and highlight their experience through content creation during the program, and on-campus/virtual events during the following academic year.

ELIGIBILITY

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be an enrolled UCLA undergraduate student
  • Be an applicant of a UCLA Global Internship Program
  • Demonstrate financial need (based on FAFSA and Financial Aid Office)
  • Be a first time recipient of the Global Internship Program Scholarship. Previous recipients are not eligible to receive the award a second time.

NOTE: Students enrolled in the UCEAP Summer Global Internship Program are not eligible for this scholarship.


SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES & EXPECTATIONS

This scholarship is designed for students who want to engage with their program and highlight their experience. Scholarship recipients are required to complete the following:

  1. Written testimonial on their experience for the IEO website.
  2. 10 high quality photos with captions to be used for marketing purposes (required from students participating on the in-person programs only)
    • See Social Media Post (@uclaieo)
    • See program pages (i.e. Overview, Travel & On-site Experience, etc.)
  3. Student Experience Project: Select one
  4. Participation in two events to highlight their experience to Summer 2026 Global Internship Program applicants. Sample events can include but are not limited to:
    • Student Panels
      • Info Sessions
      • Pre-Departure Orientations
      • IEO Presentations/Events
    • IEO tabling events
    • IEO Special Projects
  5. Serve as a GIP Student Ambassadorfor future applicants and participants (2025-2026 academic year).

AWARDS

Multiple scholarships will be awarded through a competitive application process. Amounts may vary:

  • Up to $3,000 for in-person programs
  • Up to $1,000 for virtual programs

Preference will be given to students who:

  • Demonstrate high financial need;
  • Are first generation students;
  • Are underrepresented minority in study abroad;
  • Have not previously studied abroad

As this scholarship is meant to highlight students’ experiences in the various GIP locations, awards will also consider program location.

Applicants will be notified of decisions by the GIP withdrawal deadline.
