Internship Role and Responsibilities

Bamboo Village Trust

Company Description: Bamboo Village Trust is a community-based nonprofit organization in Indonesia dedicated to promoting sustainable living, environmental education, and bamboo-based solutions for resilient futures. By combining traditional knowledge with modern eco-design, the Trust develops bamboo as a renewable resource for housing, infrastructure, and community spaces, while raising awareness about sustainable lifestyles. Intern Role and Responsibilities: Your general role & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the development and execution of communications strategies to raise awareness about sustainable living and bamboo innovation.
  • Supporting the creation of multimedia content from ideation to scripting and producing (blogs, social media posts, short videos, and photo stories) to highlight the Trust’s projects and impact.
  • Drafting newsletters and donor updates to strengthen relationships with supporters and partners.
  • Helping refine messaging for different audiences, including local communities, international supporters, and sustainability partners.
  • Conducting research on best practices in nonprofit communications and eco-branding.
  • Assisting with media outreach and public relations (PR), including building relationships with journalists, preparing press kits, and pitching stories to relevant outlets.
  • Supporting event promotion for workshops, exhibitions, and community education activities.

Bring Back the Light

Company Description: Bring Back the Light is a conservation initiative dedicated to protecting and restoring firefly populations across Indonesia. Rapid urbanization, light pollution, pesticide use, and habitat loss have led to declining firefly numbers worldwide.
Bring Back the Light works to raise awareness, engage communities, and promote sustainable practices that safeguard these species and their habitats. Through education campaigns, citizen science, and local partnerships, the organization empowers people to reconnect with nature and take action for biodiversity conservation.

Intern Role and Responsibilities: Your general role & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Reviewing the organization’s current digital platforms and suggesting improvements to increase reach and engagement.
  • Assisting with the creation of engaging digital content, including graphics, blog posts, short videos, and photo stories on firefly conservation.
  • Supporting social media campaigns on biodiversity, light pollution, and community action
  • Researching and recommending best practices in digital engagement for environmental nonprofits.
  • Helping to craft compelling stories and key messages for target audiences, including schools, local communities, and international supporters.
  • Assisting with the development of newsletters, campaign toolkits, and online events/webinars
  • Supporting event promotion for workshops, exhibitions, and community education activities.

The Coral Triangle (CTC)

Company Description: The Coral Triangle Center (CTC) is an Indonesian nonprofit foundation dedicated to inspiring and building generations of leaders to protect and sustain marine biodiversity in the Coral Triangle, the world’s epicenter of marine life. Intern Role and Responsibilities: Your general role & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting with the development and implementation of marketing and communications strategies to promote CTC’s programs and initiatives across different communications channels.
  • Supporting the creation of engaging content for social media, newsletters, blogs, and press releases.
  • Contributing to campaign development, including creative storytelling for ocean conservation and community resilience.
  • Assisting in the design and production of communications materials, including video, PDFs, presentations, and visual assets.
  • Conducting audience research and analyzing digital engagement metrics to inform campaign strategies.
  • Supporting media outreach and building relationships with journalists, influencers, and partner organizations.

Intern Role and Responsibilities: Your general role & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Design and edit monthly podcast episodes.
  • Edit interviews, narration, and field recordings into cohesive, immersive audio experiences.
  • Source and mix soundscapes, music, and archival audio where appropriate.
  • Develop and refine the podcast’s audio identity (intro, outro, sonic palette).
  • Manage hosting platforms (Spotify, Apple Podcasts, RSS).
  • Create short promotional clips and audiograms for social media.

Established in 2018 as a project at Kopernik, Perfect Fit has grown into a mission-driven business that tackles taboos around sexual and reproductive health while empowering women and girls with knowledge and affordable solutions. As it scales, Perfect Fit increasingly engages with corporate partners and impact-driven investors that prioritize ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) integration, making the alignment of its impact reporting with corporate ESG frameworks a strategic priority.

Intern Role and Responsibilities: Your general role & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Mapping how Perfect Fit’s impact aligns with ESG frameworks used by corporate partners (e.g., UN SDGs, or corporate sustainability strategies).
    • Supporting the preparation of ESG-aligned reports and case studies for corporate funders and partners.
    • Conducting research on corporate ESG priorities (e.g., gender equity, diversity & inclusion, responsible sourcing) and advising on how Perfect Fit can position itself to align with them.
    • Assisting with the development of impact measurement tools that resonate with ESG teams, including KPIs around women’s health, education, and supply chain sustainability.
    • Supporting the design of funding proposals and partnership pitches that emphasize ESG alignment.
    • Reviewing trends in corporate ESG reporting and recommending ways to strengthen Perfect Fit’s communications to investors and partners.

Company Description: Sungai Watch is an environmental organization on a mission to stop plastic from going into the ocean. Through river barrier installations, cleanups, and data-driven advocacy, we are scaling solutions that protect waterways and restore ecosystems across Indonesia. Sungai Design transforms recovered plastic waste into beautiful, functional products — telling a story of circularity, environmental justice, and local craftsmanship.

Intern Role and Responsibilities: Your general role & responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

    • Create and schedule content across Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube
    • Assist with writing captions, campaign copy, and storytelling posts
    • Engage with our audience (comments, DMs, shares, community replies)
    • Support media partnerships and repost coordination

    • Assisting with the design of pilot projects, including monitoring and evaluating their impact.
    • Researching social entrepreneurship case studies in WASH and identifying best practices that could be applied in Indonesia
    • Supporting the preparation of pitch decks, business plans, and impact reports for potential funders and partners.
    • Contributing to storytelling and knowledge-sharing activities that highlight the social and environmental impact of Terra Water’s initiatives
