Through the generosity of Ross Shideler and Kathleen Komar, the UCLA IEO is excited to announce the Komar Shideler Study Abroad Scholarship. For Summer/Fall 2023 programs, IEO will award two $2,000 scholarships.

Eligibility Criteria
– Preference will be given to Comparative Literature and Scandinavian Languages majors or minors and Nordic Studies majors.
– Students in the Humanities, with high financial need and who have not studied abroad will be considered next;
– Students participating in the UCLA Summer Travel Study Program –Â ELTS: In the footsteps of Hans Christian Andersen, who also have high financial need and no previous study abroad experience will also be considered.

– When application opens for your program term, complete the additional scholarship-specific questions.
Applications will be reviewed by the UCLA IEO Scholarship Committee. Award announcements will be made mid-March for summer/fall programs and mid-December for winter/spring programs.
